This live camera sits near the Tanzanian border at the edge of the Mara Triangle Conservancy in Kenya and overlooks the Fig Tree Crossing, one of the herds' favorite entry points into the Maasai Mara. Animals pass through year-round, but the site comes alive during the Great Migration, one of nature's greatest spectacles: over 1.2 million wildebeest, joined by zebras, Thomson's gazelles and eland, circle between the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara in search of rain and fresh grazing. The season usually runs from July to November, and because the site is right on the Mara River, you often see several crossing attempts in a row. The Mara Triangle, about 510 square kilometres, is home to Africa's Big Five as well as cheetahs and giraffes. A stream from the explore.org network, in partnership with the Mara Triangle Conservancy.
