Live camera at the ALMA observatory (Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array) in the Atacama Desert, northern Chile. ALMA is one of the largest radio astronomy projects in the world: an array of 66 antennas on the Chajnantor plateau, at about 5,000 metres above sea level, operated by an international partnership. By day the picture shows the antennas and the arid landscape; at night, the starry sky of the southern hemisphere. Streamed by the astronomy team of the Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun.
