RTP 1 Live

RTP1 is the flagship channel of Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, the country's public broadcaster, mixing news, Portuguese drama, sport and entertainment. Mornings start with the magazine show Praça da Alegria, afternoons bring A Nossa Tarde, and before the evening news Fernando Mendes hosts O Preço Certo, Portugal's version of The Price Is Right, on air for more than two decades. Evenings feature Telejornal, documentary strands such as Linha da Frente and Primeira Pessoa, and big formats like The Voice.

Telejornal is the oldest news programme in Portugal, first broadcast on October 19, 1959, and it remains the channel's main bulletin.

RTP began regular broadcasts on March 7, 1957, in Lisbon, and was the country's only TV channel until 1968. Today it runs studios in Lisbon and Porto under the motto "Uma. Por todos." Whether you are part of the Portuguese community abroad or learning European Portuguese, you can tune in to RTP1 on CXTv.
