Euronews PT is the Portuguese-language channel of Euronews, the pan-European news network headquartered in Lyon, France. It broadcasts in European Portuguese and covers world affairs from a European perspective: EU politics, the economy, conflicts and diplomacy, science, culture and sport.
The network's motto, "All views", sums up its aim of giving context without sensationalism so viewers can make up their own minds. For learners of Portuguese, it is a useful way to hear the European variety of the language applied to current affairs.
Euronews launched on 1 January 1993 and has broadcast in Portuguese since 1999; in 2017 it split into separate channels for each language. Since July 2022, 88% of the company has been owned by the Portuguese fund Alpac Capital.
