Nat Geo WILD is National Geographic's network devoted to animals and natural history: big cats on the savanna, snakes, crocodiles, bears, sharks and the daily struggle for survival in the wild. Its documentaries take you from deserts and rainforests after dark to the great national parks of America.
Current shows include Secrets of the Zoo: Tampa, a behind-the-scenes look at ZooTampa in Florida, The Wizard of Paws, about the specialist who builds prosthetics and braces for injured animals, and Primal Combat. Over the years the channel has also been known for themed events such as Big Cat Week and series like Animal Fight Club and Animal ER.
The sister network of the National Geographic channel, Nat Geo WILD first launched in Hong Kong in 2006 and arrived in the United States in 2010. It belongs to National Geographic Partners, a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company and the National Geographic Society, based in Washington, D.C. For animal lovers, nature fans and anyone who enjoys a good documentary, it is easy viewing for the whole family.
