Porto Canal is a Portuguese television channel that looks at the country from Porto and the North. Its schedule mixes news, sport and entertainment, with news bulletins produced at its base in Senhora da Hora, Matosinhos, and shows such as "Por Perto", which travels around towns and cities in northern Portugal, and the health programme "Consultório".
Sport is a big part of the channel: Porto Canal is owned by FC Porto and has a studio at the Estádio do Dragão, home to the club's own programmes, specials and news on the first team, other sports and the academy. Almost all of its output is produced in-house in Portugal.
The channel went on air on 29 September 2006, focusing on Greater Porto, expanded to the rest of the North in 2009 and was fully acquired by FC Porto in 2015. Its slogan is "Sinta Mais". A natural pick for FC Porto supporters abroad and the Portuguese diaspora.
