The picture shows the start of the dirt road, the forest and the sign of the Fundação Florestal, which controls vehicle access to Ilhabela State Park. The road crosses the mountains to Castelhanos Beach on the other side of the island and usually calls for a 4x4, especially after rain. Handy for checking the road conditions before heading up.
