Live camera on the Japanese spider crab tank at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California. The exhibit recreates a whalefall: when a whale dies, its body sinks to the seafloor and its nutrient-rich remains feed a whole community of scavengers for decades. The gangly giants of this whalefall community are the Japanese spider crabs, with their extremely long legs, moving slowly among the bones. The stream comes from the aquarium itself.
