TV Brasil came to meet the old aspiration of Brazilian society for national, independent and democratic public television. Its purpose is to complement and expand the content offer, offering informational, cultural, artistic, scientific and citizenship-forming programming.
Created in December 2007, TV Brasil is managed by Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC), an entity also responsible for Agência Brasil, Radioagencia Nacional, TV Brasil Internacional, Radios MEC AM and FM, in addition to Radios Nacional do Rio de Janeiro, AM and FM from Brasília, Amazônia and Alto Solimões.
