Panamá - Beija-flores no Canopy Tower

This live camera shows the hummingbird feeders at Canopy Tower, a birding lodge atop Semaphore Hill in Soberanía National Park, about 35 miles north of Panama City, on the banks of the Panama Canal. The tower was built in 1965 as a US military radar station to protect the canal, was abandoned in the 1990s and in 1999 became a destination for birders from around the world. The feeders sit on a deck a short stroll from the entrance, and the camera is about 15 feet away, close enough to see the shimmer of the feathers. Frequent visitors include the White-necked Jacobin, White-vented Plumeleteer, Violet-bellied Hummingbird, Long-billed Hermit and Blue-chested Hummingbird, which come to sip sugar water refilled several times a day.
