The Cananéia/Ariri crossing carries 35 to 40 people once a day and the journey takes around three and a half hours. The route serves the riverside communities of Marujá and Pontal and is practically the only form of transport for these populations. The boats on the São Sebastião/Ilhabela crossing have regular departures, on average, every thirty minutes, from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm. The journey usually lasts 15 minutes.
