EWTN Español is the Spanish-language service of the Eternal Word Television Network, the Catholic network founded in the United States by Mother Angelica. Its schedule follows the teaching of the Church and includes Holy Mass, prayers and devotions, reruns of Mother Angelica's classic programmes, faith and family series, films and documentaries.
The channel also carries major Church events, such as beatification Masses and solemnities, and since December 2020 has included a block produced by EWTN Spain. It is a good companion for Spanish-speaking Catholics who want to pray along at home.
EWTN began broadcasting on 15 August 1981 from a studio set up in the garage of a convent in Irondale, Alabama, and its Spanish-language feed for Latin America and Spain started in 1995. The network is funded by donations.
