The Assembly of Minas, formed by 77 deputies elected by the people, has the function of discussing and producing laws, supervising the state Executive Branch and representing the interests of the various sectors of society, politically mediating conflicts that arise. The actions of the Legislature have a direct impact on citizens' lives, public administration and the direction of the Minas Gerais economy.
