RTP Madeira is a television channel with regional characteristics belonging to the RTP Group - Rádio e Televisão de Portugal and assuming the responsibility and mission for the provision of public television service in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
It was implemented on August 6, 1972, in Funchal. As its central objectives, internally, it has to make information and regional reality reach the entire archipelago, in all domains. Externally, it has the ambition to bring the most relevant aspects of the daily life of the region to the Madeiran diaspora living in the four parts of the world and, with the indispensable help of RTP Internacional, bring the current affairs of these communities to the residents of the islands.
