Televisión del Sur (Telesur or teleSUR) is a multi-state (i.e. multi-government) television network for America, based in Venezuela. It began broadcasting on July 24, 2005, the birth anniversary of Simón Bolívar. The channel, whose motto is "Nuestro Norte es el Sur" (Our North is the South), was created in a partnership that is financed by the governments of Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua.
