The Promenade des Anglais, simply called Promenade or La Prom by the locals, with its wide promenade along the bay and its famous blue chairs (chaises bleues) positioned to contemplate the Mediterranean coast, defines itself as a place of leisure, frequented by cyclists, families, tourists and others. Every year, it hosts several events, such as the Carnival of Nice or the Battle of Flowers.
