Trace Kitoko is a live music TV channel from the French group Trace, devoted to Congolese music. Launched in 2018, the channel takes its name from the word "kitoko", which means "beautiful" in Lingala, and highlights the artists and rhythms behind the reputation of Congolese music, serving as a showcase of that scene for audiences across the continent and the diaspora. Its schedule is made up mostly of back-to-back music videos, with playlists and charts of current hits, in the fast, visual style that defines the network's channels. Founded in 2002 by Olivier Laouchez, Claude Grunitzky and Richard Wayner and based in Clichy, in the Paris area, the Trace group specialises in Afro-urban cultures and runs around thirty TV channels, including Trace Urban, Trace Africa, Trace Caribbean and Trace Gospel, as well as radio stations and the Trace+ app, where the channels can also be watched. With the tagline "We Are Congolese Music", it is a good pick for anyone who wants to discover the hits and artists of music from the Congo.
