Trace Mboa is a live music TV channel from the French group Trace, devoted to the music of Cameroon. Launched in 2020, the channel takes its name from the word "mboa", used in Cameroon to mean "home" or "homeland", and highlights Cameroonian artists, serving as a showcase of the country's music scene for audiences across the continent and the diaspora. Its schedule is made up mostly of back-to-back music videos, with playlists and charts of current hits, in the fast, visual style that defines the network's channels. Founded in 2002 by Olivier Laouchez, Claude Grunitzky and Richard Wayner and based in Clichy, in the Paris area, the Trace group specialises in Afro-urban cultures and runs around thirty TV channels, including Trace Urban, Trace Africa, Trace Caribbean and Trace Gospel, as well as radio stations and the Trace+ app, where the channels can also be watched. With the tagline "We Are Mboa Music", it is a good pick for anyone who wants to discover the hits and artists of Cameroonian music.
