São Joaquim is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Santa Catarina. Being at an altitude of 1,354 meters. Its estimated population in 2019 was 26,952. Located in the Serrano Plateau, it is located 133 km from Tubarão, 85 km from Lages and 232 km from Florianópolis. The city has a great ethnic diversity, composed mainly by descendants of Portuguese, Germans, Italians, Japanese and indigenous people. There is also a large part of the population coming from other states, mainly from Rio Grande do Sul.
