Canal 21 is a free-to-air television station in El Salvador, owned by Grupo Megavisión and based in San Salvador. News is at the heart of the schedule: "Telenoticias Megavisión", also known as Telenoticias 21, airs several editions a day covering politics, security, the economy, sport and entertainment in Spanish.
The rest of the lineup includes the interview programme "Diálogo", the sports talk show "Fanáticos Plus", the morning magazine "Arriba mi gente", cartoons and Sunday Mass. It is a general-interest channel made for Salvadoran families.
Canal 21 was founded on 1 March 1993 by businessman Óscar Antonio Safie and over the years partnered with Nickelodeon and VH1 to air animated series and music. Its slogan is "Tome el control" and its sister station is Canal 19. A good choice for the Salvadoran community in the United States and for anyone who wants Central American news straight from the source.
