Caracol Televisión is one of Colombia's major free-to-air networks, with a general schedule that mixes news, telenovelas and entertainment. Its newsroom produces Noticias Caracol, and the stream on this page is the Noticias Caracol live feed on YouTube, with news from Bogotá, the Colombian regions and the rest of the world throughout the day.
On the main channel, scripted drama is the big draw: current productions include the telenovelas Rafael Orozco and María la Caprichosa. Entertainment comes from reality and competition formats, led by Yo Me Llamo, a show in which impersonators take the stage with the voice and look of famous singers.
Caracol started on 28 August 1969 as a television production company and launched its own national channel on 10 July 1998, known as Canal Caracol until 2010. It belongs to the Valorem group, is based in Bogotá and uses the motto "Tú nos ves, Caracol te ve". A good starting point for anyone discovering Colombian television and its telenovelas.
