La7 is the Italian network for news and political talk. The schedule is built around TG La7, the news service led by Enrico Mentana, and interview and analysis shows such as Otto e mezzo, L'Aria che Tira, Piazzapulita, diMartedì, Bersaglio Mobile and Faccia a Faccia. For a lighter touch there is the satirical Propaganda Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
For Italians abroad and anyone learning Italian, it is the most direct way to follow politics, the economy and the debates everyone in Italy is talking about, with long interviews and guests from across the spectrum.
The channel launched on 24 June 2001, replacing Telemontecarlo (TMC), which had been on air since 1974. It has been owned by Cairo Communication since 2013. Its current slogan is "Sai cosa vedi".
