SR Fernsehen is a German-language live channel based in Saarbrücken and focused mainly on the state of Saarland. It belongs to regional public broadcasting and keeps its schedule closely tied to local daily life, with newscasts, short update blocks and magazine shows covering politics, economy, transport, consumer topics and culture. Two of its clearest references are SR info and aktueller bericht, a regional news format that also includes a daily sports segment.
Across the schedule, viewers also find strands such as Wir im Saarland, which looks at culture, practical topics and stories from the border region, as well as sportarena for local sports coverage. The channel usually feels newsroom-led, with studio presentation, field reports, Saarland issues and regular attention to nearby areas such as Lorraine and Luxembourg.
