Trace Africa is a live music TV channel from the French group Trace, devoted to African music and cultures. Created by Olivier Laouchez and on air since 15 November 2011, when it launched on Canal+ Afrique, the channel shows music videos, concerts and interviews with African artists, along with fashion magazines and reports, and features such as "African Hit 10" and "African Hit 30", the charts of the most requested videos on the continent. Its schedule is made up mostly of back-to-back music videos, with playlists and charts of current hits, in the fast, visual style that defines the network's channels. Founded in 2002 by Olivier Laouchez, Claude Grunitzky and Richard Wayner and based in Clichy, in the Paris area, the Trace group specialises in Afro-urban cultures and runs around thirty TV channels, including Trace Urban, Trace Africa, Trace Caribbean and Trace Gospel, as well as radio stations and the Trace+ app, where the channels can also be watched. With the tagline "We Are African Music", it is a good pick for anyone who wants to keep up with the hits and new talents of African music.
