RAI 5 is an Italian live channel dedicated to culture and the arts, built for viewers interested in music, dance, theatre, cinema and documentaries. Instead of following the pattern of a broad general channel, it shapes its schedule around performances, concerts, opera, ballet, auteur films and documentary series, usually with a calmer rhythm and a clear artistic focus. In the live feed, viewers often come across stage recordings, musical performances, programs about painting, architecture, literature, travel, design and the backstage world of cultural production. There is also room for interviews, artist portraits and reports that help frame each subject with more clarity. The result is a channel that presents Italian and international cultural production in a very direct way, with strong space for performance, classical repertoire and the discovery of works, authors and creative voices.
