Venevisión is Venezuela's largest free-to-air network and, today, the oldest television channel in the country still broadcasting. Its schedule is classic Latin American general entertainment: telenovelas, several daily editions of Noticiero Venevisión, comedy and variety shows, and big in-house events such as the Miss Venezuela pageant and the Teletón.
The network broadcasts from Caracas, home of the Edificio Venevisión in Los Caobos. Outside Venezuela, its programmes also reach viewers through the Venevision Play platform and the international feed Ve Plus, widely followed by the Venezuelan diaspora.
Founded by Diego Cisneros, Venevisión went on air on channel 4 on 1 March 1961, after an opening gala attended by thousands of people and Hollywood star Joan Crawford. It belongs to the Cisneros Organization and is run by Cisneros Media. In 2026 it marks 65 years on air under the motto "Dándolo todo". A natural first stop for anyone curious about Latin American telenovelas.
