Canal 12 of Posadas, branded Doce TV, is the public broadcaster of Misiones, the Argentine province wedged between Brazil and Paraguay, home of the Iguazú Falls. Its Spanish-language schedule carries three local newscasts on weekdays: Ahora en Misiones at 6 AM, Al mediodía at noon and El noticiero at 8 PM, covering politics, the economy, crime and sport across the province.
Home-grown shows include the morning magazine Enterate, esto pasó, the lunchtime programme Conexión 12/17, Nuestro agro on farming, the sports show Reel deportivo and the music programme De Misiones al Mercosur. The rest of the day features shows from national networks in Buenos Aires.
On the air since 18 November 1972 under the call sign LT 85 TV, the channel is owned by the provincial government and run by Multimedios SAPEM. A network of relay transmitters takes it across Misiones and into border towns in Brazil and Paraguay.
